ITACA will centre around the provision of two main services:

  • a location & monitoring service, and
  • a software tools for managing underwater sites.

Both these services have a broader maritime utility than the specialist archaeology focus that drives this project.
As the identified services shall serve, potentially, multiple communities (public bodies, scientific users, commercial and private maritime users, etc.) and support different types of applications with different requirements, service model analysis shall consider an interleaved scenario with several different options in terms of both target customers and offered products, in order to derive optimum strategies with respect to profit versus risk ratio maximisation.
