The ITACA Final Conference “Satellite Remote Sensing Technology in Underwater Archaeology” will be held in Athens on June 24, 2016 at the prestigious venue of the Hellenic Maritime Museum (Akti Themistokleous 12, Piraeus).
The Final Conference will be the occasion to present the results of the ITACA (Innovation Technologies and Applications for Coastal Archaeological sites) project. ITACA aims to prove a web-based management system for underwater archaeological sites in coastal regions combining the most advanced techniques of high resolution satellite images elaboration with processing algorithms integrated into the Web GIS. All the technologies are optimized for archaeological uses, thus enabling the provision of a location and monitoring service for underwater archaeological sites in coastal zones.
